Meet Arthur

Here is our new guy! He's 6 months old, so he's past the tiny fluff-ball phase and is moving through the all-legs-and-ears phase. Look at the pretty swirl on his side! His beautiful eyes! His little white boots! How could anyone not want him?

That's not a rhetorical question. He is a Project Pet kitten, rescued, fostered, and given all his health care. They even microchipped him.

With my cat allergies, we had to be sure I'd be okay, so yesterday we went to see him at PetSmart, and made sure I got good and exposed. Poor kitty must have thought we were crazy rubbing our faces all over him. I got a little sniffly--enough to decide poor little Arthur isn't allowed on the bed (though I'm sure that rule isn't going to last long)--but otherwise was fine. Thank goodness when we arrived today no one had taken him yet.

He's really calm for a kitten and cuddly. We are restricting him to the hall/changing area/bathroom for right now until he's had time to get used to all the new stuff and demonstrate he can use the litter box.

Which means we spent most of the day in the hall snuggling with him. He really likes attention and to sit in our laps. Now he's pretty tired and is sleeping on a cozy pile of towels. He ate a ton of kitten chow and seems to enjoy his special kitty water fountain.

Tomorrow, if he doesn't seem frightened, we'll let him wander freely around the apartment.

Knitting, not so much. Thesis, still not done. But, I have a kitten!

So cute! I have a rescued orange with similar markings and he's crawling up to headbump my chin. And mine is a messy eater too...
